Applicable Statutes
Termination of tenancy: landlord must give proper written notice. For nonpayment of rent, 14 days written notice is required. Eviction must proceed through the court process.
Prohibited eviction grounds: landlord may not evict for discriminatory reasons or in retaliation for tenant exercising legal rights.
Vt. Stat. Ann. tit. 9, § 4467(c)
Seasonal and vacation rentals have different notice requirements; standard residential tenancies require notice of non-renewal at least one full rental period in advance.
