Applicable Statutes
Utility shutoff prohibited: landlord may not voluntarily interrupt utility services essential to the tenant's health and safety.
Retaliation prohibited: landlord may not retaliate against a tenant for reporting housing violations, joining a tenant union, or exercising legal rights. Retaliation creates a defense to eviction.
