Applicable Statutes
Noncompliance by tenant: landlord must give written notice specifying the breach; tenant has 14 days to remedy a remediable material noncompliance.

Termination of periodic tenancy: month-to-month tenancy may be terminated by either party with at least 30 days advance notice.
Mont. Code Ann. § 70-24-422(1)
Nonpayment of rent: landlord must give tenant at least 3 days written notice to pay rent or vacate before filing for eviction.
