Applicable Statutes
Security deposit limit: deposit may not exceed one and one-half months' rent.
Mich. Comp. Laws § 554.609
Return of security deposit: landlord must return the deposit, with an itemized statement of deductions, within 30 days after the tenancy ends.

Move-in condition inventory: landlord must provide tenant with a move-in condition report within 7 days of move-in. Tenant has 7 days to object. Failure to provide inventory may affect landlord's right to make deductions.
