Connecticut Security Deposit Laws

Connecticut requires landlords to pay annual interest on security deposits held and caps deposits at two months' rent (one month for tenants 62 and older).

Security deposit limits, interest, and return: deposit may not exceed 2 months' rent (1 month for tenants 62 and older). Interest must be paid annually at the savings deposit rate. Deposit must be returned within 30 days after tenancy ends.
